Reincarnation—Fact or Fallacy?
An illustrated talk by
our Secretary,
Lily Chong, giving a comprehensive look at Reincarnation from both the
occult tradition as well as the scientific viewpoint. The scientific
research by Dr. Ian Stevenson of the University of Virginia
will be discussed together with theosophical explanations.
Reincarnation—fact or
fallacy? This is a question asked by many. Members of the Theosophical
Society may or may not realize that the doctrine of reincarnation was
effectively introduced by the Theosophical Society to the West in the 19th
century. Indeed, it is a fundamental tenet of theosophy. Some religions
today have rejected reincarnation as a possibility, rather regarding it as a
heresy. Nevertheless, more and more people are beginning to see the
rationale and reasonableness of the doctrine and how it fits in with the
overall scheme of things. This talk is highly recommended for our new
members. See the
April
2020 newsletter.
If you have friends who
do not believe in reincarnation please do bring them along to this talk.

Secrets of the Stars
A talk by our Asst.
Secretary, Brandon Goh:
"As above, so
below, as within, so without — the stars and planets move within us as much
as they move outside us. Realising the truth that the universe is one whole,
not a conglomeration of separate parts, is both the ultimate goal of
meditation and the basis of practical occultism. Let us utilise the
directions given by the occultists and take the first step towards this
realisation."
