Understanding Certain Sanskrit Terms Used in Theosophy
A talk by SB Lee, “It is an attempt to understand the terms through
Sanskrit grammar where the terms are broken down into their component parts.
This gives rise to literal meaning of the terms. However, their purport or
intended meaning is adopted.”

The
Hatha Yoga and Rajah Yoga of India
Choong Chi Pin gives a talk on “The Hatha Yoga and Rajah Yoga of
India” by Annie Besant from The Annals of Psychical Science, November, 1906.
"This psychological
science of the East is called Yoga, a word signifying to bind, to unite.
When we speak of Yoga, we express the idea of forming a union, of binding.
Of binding what? Consciousness itself, by realizing the union of the
separate consciousnesses of men with the universal consciousness. Yoga
includes all the practical methods by which this union may be attained.
Yoga is thus a science
which may be both studied and practised; it is practised in order to obtain
a complete union between the ordinary individual consciousness of man and
the superconsciousness, by rising from plane to plane, until at last this
union is completely attained: then one is said to be free."

H.
P. B. Speaks
Bro. Kam Chai Heng continues his reading from the book, H.P.B. Speaks,
with with Letters XV to XVII. He provides the following synopsis.
"For historal purposes
the most valuable documents among the Adyar Archives are the series of
diaries of Col. Olcott from 1878 till his death in 1907 and Scrap-Books of
HPB and Col Olcott.
The diary of 1878 is
especially interesting because it was written by both HSC and HPB which also
gives us a glimpse of their lives in the last years of TS in America. Then
we shall examine HPB's letter to her aunt Mme Nadine Fadeew. This is
significant as it is in a manner of her profession faith."
