Choong Chi Pin gives the second of his talks based on four lectures delivered by Annie Besant on the 19th Anniversary of The Theosophical Society at the Headquarters in Adyar in 1894.

Annie Besant says, "...Then Uddalaka told his son that as the salt which could not be seen yet pervaded all, so it was with Brahman, the Universal Soul. All-pervading, omnipresent, eternal, the root, the life, the essence, the substance of all, one and indivisible in substance, separate in the manifested sheaths that It is going of Its own substance to evolve; whatever is exists and lives by It, the SELF of the universe, THAT from which everything proceeds. ...."

Glenn Mullin is an internationally known scholar and translator of books on Tibetan Buddhism, and has lived in the Himalayas for 12 years studying under many of Tibet’s spiritual leaders.

Jew: Was Jesus a Jew?

In Christianity and Judaism, the Jews are the ‘chosen people’ of God as illustrated in the first 5 books of the Old Testament. They were ‘chosen’ to be a light to the world, so that the whole world witness ‘see’ God and his goodness. But it is interesting to note that the words ‘Jew’ and ‘Judaism’ as we understand them today, are not found in the original manuscripts of the Bible. One can only conclude that external (i. e. not authors of the bible) parties have coined these two words later on, to create a perception of ‘Jew’ & ‘Judaism.’ The issue then is whether these created perceptions of the two words are consistent to the stories in the bible. This also then impacts the issue of whether “Jesus was a Jew,” as Christians perceive it today?
