Damodar
Choong Chi Pin
continues his reading of the book Damodar the Pioneer of Theosophical
Movement by Sven Eek. This month he looks at the letters between Damodar
and W.Q. Judge.
“...From the occult
point of view this is the most interesting part of the book. Original
letters from Judge to Damodar and vice versa are now available from Adyar
and the archives of Point Loma Theosophical Society.
The letters written by
Damodar to Judge were presumably used as the basis for A Hindu Chela’s
Diary, a serial published in The Path, beginning in June,1886.
The letters record some
of Damodar’s astral travels with the Masters to occult places during his
training to be an initiate.
As the letters were
rather long, we need to discuss them in several talks.”
