Looking  at  Lent & Easter, with special reference to the Doctrines of Resurrection & Ascension

‘Greater love hath no man, but that he lay down his life for another’—a quote which sums up the Christian Creed.  An all-embracing Love,  one that is totally altruistic, where the giver thinks nothing of  ‘sacrificing’  his  life  for another.  Over the centuries, this  concept has been highlighted to Christians,  as God’s greatest  gift: Redemption or Salvation. From this stems the idea of Vicarious Atonement. The concept of a saviour is nothing new. This talk by Sis. Gertrude Weerekoon will explore the inner aspects of  this idea and trace its origins to pre-Christian beginnings in the Old World.
