Theosophy and Contemporary Literature
“The principles of TS
have been used or misused by many. Often for their own profit, plagiarized
without any acknowledgement. Worse, they are often modified to glamorize and
excite new age adventurers with amorality.”, says our Hon. Treasurer,
Bro. Tang Kwok Choon. He will take two works to illustrate this and
hopefully members will view such new age works with some viveka. The
two books referred to are Celestine Prophecy by James Redfield, and
Dossier on The Ascension purportedly by Master Serapis Bey but
written by Mark Prophet who together with his wife Elizabeth have a
proliferation of books on Masters. They also coined the term “Ascended
Master” which is popularly bandied about these days.
