The Christ in Man
Choong Chi Pin
gives this talk based on a lecture of the same title delivered by Annie
Besant in Stockholm on 17th June 1913.
“...For man immortality is inherent; it is the outward manifestation of that
Eternity which is his as the offspring of the Eternal Himself. But we have
been inclined to identify man with his body, rather than with himself; to
speak of him as though the Spirit were a possession instead of the body
being but a garment. And so, looking at man in upside-down fashion, it has
been possible for us to ask whether he has a Spirit, whether he survives
death, whereas really the question that we might very well ask is: “Why has
this immortal Bird of Heaven plunged down into the ocean of matter, into
mortal life? ...”

Symbolism and Hinduism
During her last talk on
the 'Seven Great Religions' Kavitha Mallavarapu briefly spoke
about the role of symbolism in Hinduism. At this talk she will expand on
this subject.
Symbolism is an integral
part of the Hindu religion and philosophy. Nothing is what it appears to be
on the surface. The deeper you dig the meaning unearthed is grander.
Sadly common people
among the Hindus take these symbols literally and this has led to the growth
of superstitions and perverted religious idem.
During this talk, with
the help of theosophical literature, Kavitha would shed some light on the
role of symbolism in Hinduism.

Manasarovar and Kailash
After his first visit to
Lake Manasarovar and Mt. Kailash which he enjoyed very much, Lor Bak
Liang made a second trip with a much smaller group of fellow pilgrims
led by Sadhguru. The trip included trekking for 4 days along routes said to
be wandered on by Lord Shiva and his wife Parvati thousands of years ago.
Bro. Bak Liang gives us his travelogue on this second trip.
