The Ascent to Spiritual Heights

Brandon Goh, our Assistant Secretary, shares his thoughts on this lofty subject.

Spiritual consciousness is the sublime state for which many aspirants strive, and meditation, along with the right use of mantras, hastens its attainment. Wherever we stand on the evolutionary ladder, direct spiritual awareness, or at least its manifestation in qualities of character or noble emotions, is within our reach. Even for those who are not drawing near the Path as yet, there are hills to surmount before the glorious mountains come into view.

Most of us already know the qualifications and laws of the spiritual path by heart, and many are daunted – rightfully so. Grave and severe, the laws of the "razor-edged path" demand utter sacrifice and utmost seriousness. The prospective disciple who works not for the One Cause but for himself risks a terrible fate. However, the call to the heights must be answered.

The path to discipleship is ever open to those who are willing to tread it. It is as open now as it was back then during the time of HPB and other great initiates. The only difference is that conscious communication will only be possible when we've sufficiently developed higher consciousness. Nonetheless, the higher self of the aspirant is always in communion with the Great Ones and only through reaching within may we find the light.

Those who have the eyes to see and ears to hear, arise!

The Spirit of Youth
