Letter No. 24 - 29

DO NOT MISS !!!

These are the first letters from the Master M.

A. O. Hume had misunderstood and was offended by the Memo and the P. S. by the Master M. sent by Olcott on September 27, 1881. The Master M. would not have bothered explaining to A. O. Hume had it not been the favour Hume did for HPB recently. Unlike the average man, the Adept could never misunderstand a situation as He follows the thought and not the words it is clothed in. The Master M. discussed the virtues and shortcomings of A. O. Hume.

Gayatri

Bro. Choong Chi Pin continues his book study of Gayatri by I. K. Taimni on Chapter 7. Viniyoga Mantra. The word 'mantra' is used in many senses. In earlier discussions 'mantra' was used as a particular combination of letters which has a mysterious power of bringing about certain results when used in a particular manner. But the vast majority of mantras do not belong to this class.

Letters No. LBS-4 & LBS-20, 30, 31 & 32

DO NOT MISS !!!

Letter 30. Two Allahabad theosophists had asked to be put in contact with the Masters, which the Master M. here refuses to consider. These individuals although joined the T. S. as members were as stubborn as ever in their old beliefs and superstitions, and having never given up caste or one single of their customs. They wanted the Master to answer questions relating to their Shastras and Orthodox Brahmanism. The effects of erroneous and sincere beliefs are worse than having no belief.

Letter 31. The Master M. remarked about the attacks on the founders, H. P. B. and H. S. Olcott. About Suby Ram and the delusions and dangers of mediumship. Forced vision through the practice of Hatha yoga and prolonged asceticism can damage the faculty of clairvoyance. No self-tutored seer or clairaudient ever saw or heard quite correctly.

Sinnett has changed in the one year. Master D. K. revealed the effects of ‘good-will’. Sinnett advised to attend to D. M. Bennett. Sinnett advised to take over from Hume the articles for The Theosophist.
